Coventry Half Marathon road closures and parking restrictions

AS the Coventry Half Marathon looms on the horizon, here is a list of the roads which are set to be closed to make planning your weekend travel that bit easier:

– Hales Street

– Fairfax Street

– Cox Street




– Jordan Well/Earl Street

– Little Park Street


– New Union Street

– Warwick Road – between New UnionStreet & Greyfriars Road

– Greyfriars Road

– Corporation Street

– Queen Victoria Road

– Lawrence Saunders Road*

– Moseley Ave* – between Holyhead Road & Lawrence Saunders Road

– Coundon Wedge Drive – access only

– Birmingham Road – between Coundon

– Wedge Drive & Butcher’s Lane

– Butcher’s Lane*

– Butt Lane

– Washbrook Lane

– Bridle Brook Lane

– Wall Hill Road – between Bridle Brook Lane & Hollyfast Lane

– Hollyfast Lane*

– Long Lane

– Waste Lane

– Brownshill Green Road – between Long Lane & Coundon Green

– Coundon Green

– Hollyfast Road

– Westhill Road*

– Barker’s Butts Lane*

Roads to be partially closed:

– Radford Road* – Northbound carriageway between Ring Road & Lawrence Saunders Road

– Holyhead Road* – Eastbound carriageway between Moseley Ave & Coundon Wedge Dr

– Tamworth Road* – Northbound carriageway

– Upper Well Street – Southbound carriageway (Northbound closed until 9.45am)

* Parking restrictions will also be in place on these roads.

Road closures will be in operation from 6am in most areas, will begin re-opening from 9.45am once the runners have passed through and will be fully reopened by 1.30pm.

Once closures are in place, no vehicles will be permitted on to the race route (other than at crossing points) until closures are lifted.
