SEVEN more players have been retained by Coventry Rugby Club as they continue to kick on with plans for the 2014/15 National League One campaign.
Leading try scorer Will Hurrell is joined by former Welsh international fly-half Matt Jones, with experienced centre Luke Myring and scrum-half Pierre Ferre all re-signing.
While Sam Pailor, Matt Tibbatts and Brett Daynes have all signed on again for the forthcoming season.
They follow in the footsteps of Roan Van Heerden, Barry Davies and Rob Knox in bringing the current squad of retained players up to 19 and more signings are expected to be announced next week.
Winger Hurrell made an immediate impact after joining from Stourbridge last summer scoring 17 tries from 29 starts.
The 24-year-old, who played mainly on the wing throughout last season, proved a handful to defences and has put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal.
Fly-half Jones, 30, has also re-signed after joining from Bristol where he brought a wealth of experience to the team.
The former Welsh international rekindled a relationship with head coach Scott Morgan from their playing days at Newport Gwent Dragons and has been instrumental in providing support for the backs to score the highest number of tries in the past four seasons.
Experience and a steady influence were the reasons why Myring was offered a new deal at Coventry after putting previous injury woes behind him.
Pailor made an immediate impact at Coventry after signing in October last year and after recovering from an horrific facial injury, he has been an ever present in the side making 16 appearances and scoring three tries.
And the club are pleased that two of their more experienced players in Tibbatts and Daynes have renewed their ties at the Butts Park Arena.
