'Horrific' attack sees city pub-goer's ear bitten

A MAN’S ear had to be glued back together after it was bitten in an ‘horrific’ attack.

These CCTV images show the man city police are hunting over the incident at the Spon Gate pub on Sunday, February 23.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, needed hospital treatment after his ear was bitten on the dancefloor at the Skydome venue.

He had been involved in an altercation and also suffered bruising to his head and two black eyes.




DC Sarah Vaughan, from Force CID, said: “The man was enjoying a night out with his friends when there was some altercation on the dance floor, resulting in an horrific injury.

“We need to identify the man responsible and want to hear from anyone who was at the Spon Gate pub and may have seen the attack or who may recognise him to contact us.”


The man is described as white, early-mid-twenties and wearing a grey or blue T shirt and dark hoodie.

Anyone who recognises the man should contact DC Vaughan on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
