Appeal for help after dog attack in Coventry

Coventry Editorial 21st May, 2014 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

A DOG owner was bitten by a mastiff type dog as she tried to fend it off her pet spaniel.

The incident happened in broad daylight on Lake View Road just off Holyhead Road.

A man did retrieve the dog saying it belonged to his sister, but no details were exchanged before he left the area. Police are now trying to trace the owner.

PC Tony Sedgley said: “This was a very distressing ordeal for the woman and her pet. The dog was badly injured and needed to be treated by a vet.

“We understand that a man did speak to the lady and told her the dog belonged to his sister, and that his sister had been ill and the dog hadn’t been walked for a number of days.

“I would urge this man to call me or one of my team so we can hear his side of the story.”

The incident happened at around 3pm on Saturday, April 5.

Anyone with information can contact PC Sedgley by calling 101.
