FRESH from the success of their sell-out production of Bizet’s Carmen, Opera Warwick are back with their ‘most dazzling production yet’.
Set within the glitz and glamour of a Hollywood studio, the group are set to bring Franz Lehar’s ‘The Merry Widow’ to life at the Warwick Arts Centre this week.
The reimagining of the early 20th-century opera into a 1950’s Hollywood studio tells the story of wealthy widow whose arrival on-set immediately the object of many amorous glances from her potential suitors.
Resting on a small fortune, her choice of marriage will determine the future of a failing movie studio and indeed Hollywood itself.
