Alvis named team of the month

Coventry Editorial 2nd Sep, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

ALVIS Sporting came from behind to register a 7-2 win at Earlswood Town last Saturday and with a 100 per cent record in August they  are worthy winners of the team of the month award.

At the break the Green Lane outfit trailed by the odd goal in three, but second half goals, thanks to a hat-trick from Dildale Linton, a brace by Tommy McGuire and a Ryan Palmer goal, gave Alvis a resounding victory.

“After a poor first half display, the team responded with determination and produced some of the best football this season,” said assistant manager Rob Kimberlin. “I was particularly impressed by 17-year-old Lewis Ludford who was man of the match.

“We are now looking forward to our first league game at Green Lane next Saturday after an absence of 837 days against Austrey Rangers, when both old and new supporters will be most welcome.”
