Do you know the score?

Do you know your Chopin from your Schubert?

If so, you may be just what a local theatre group needs.

Coventry Musical Theatre Society is on the hunt for a pianist for its upcoming production of 42nd Street, to be staged at the Belgrade next June.

The multi-award-winning theatre group have a cast of over 40 performers, and an extravagant set and costumes, but are still without someone to play the score.

And with a score including ‘We’re in the Money’, ‘Lullaby of Broadway’, and ’42nd Street’, director Steve Boden promises the successful pianist the chance to play some of musical theatre’s best loved songs.

Mr Boden added: “This is a highly important role within the company that we are excited to fill as soon as possible.

“We have assembled an excellent cast and following weeks of tap workshops are now ready for a pianist to join us and help us create this astounding show.”

42nd Street tells the story of young actress, Peggy Sawyer, as she sets out to follow her dream to become the next Broadway superstar.

The pianist would be required every Tuesday evening at rehearsals in Coventry from January until the show, with occasional Sunday rehearsals.

Any pianist who believes they have what it takes is urged to email [email protected] to find out more information.

42nd Street runs at the Belgrade Theatre from Monday, June 20 until Saturday, June 25, 2016.
