A FORMER police officer has been charged with possessing and making indecent images or children.

Paul Roberts, who resigned as a West Midlands Police community support officer in June, used to work in the Henley area of Coventry.

The 47-year-old appeared before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday) accused of one count of possessing indecent images of children and two charges of ‘making’ indecent images of children by saving the files.

He was arrested for accessing indecent images online at home when off-duty by specialist detectives from the force’s Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team as part of an intelligence-led policing operation.
