A COVENTRY nursery held a teddy bear’s picnic to celebrate the birthday of A.A. Milne.

Tiny Teddies Day Nursery in Radford marked the beloved children’s author’s birthday by paying tribute to his best known character – Winnie the Pooh.

As well as enjoying the picnic with their own, youngsters made honey cakes, took part in a treasure hunt and played an infamous game of ‘Pooh sticks’.

Margaret Prentice, nursery manager said: “All children love Winnie the Pooh stories and the different characters so we had to celebrate the birthday of their creator.

“The children are really excited to be doing the activities and have brought their own bears in for the special party picnic.”
