City man aims to break new world record at tomorrow's London Marathon

A COVENTRY man will attempt to set and unique and potentially gruelling world record this weekend when tackling the London Marathon dressed as a dragon.

Ceri Williams is hoping to set the first approved world-best time dressed as a knight on top of a dragon while raising £30,000 amongst a group of ten runners in the process.

The 43-year-old BT Business Improvement Consultant is running as part of a team of ten BT employees who are aiming to raise the sum for the NSPCC and ChildLine.

Though dressing up as a dragon may not sound the most conventional way of running a marathon, the change of costume won’t come as a change of attire for the keen rugby fan who often attends international rugby fixtures in the fancy-dress costume.

Ceri said: “It will be tough for me in costume, however it’s nothing compared to the tough times some children have to face.

“I ran the Welsh Marathon last summer with a leg fracture and managed that in six hours so I’m hopeful.”
