SKY Blues boss Tony Mowbray has expressed his delight after striker Marcus Tudgay committed his future to the Sky Blues for a third successive season.
The 33-year-old has ended speculation over his future by finally putting pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the League One club, which will keep him at the Ricoh Arena until June 2017.
Tudgay scored five goals in just 27 appearances last season, most of which came from the bench but he did score what proved to be the winner in the penultimate home game last season.
In total the former Derby County and Nottingham Forest striker has scored 10 goals in 50 appearances for the Sky Blues and Mowbray is pleased to him sign on for another year.
He said: “”I’m delighted to see Marcus Tudgay stay at the club for another season.
“Marcus was a player I highlighted at the back end of last season as someone who gives us some much-needed experience but also an intelligence and an awareness on the ball.
“He is a player who has a presence in the dressing room and is an important figure for some of the younger players at the club. He scored some important goals last season and I’m hoping for more of the same in the new campaign.”
