INDIE rockers We Are Scientists will bring their California charm to Coventry for a one-night special at popular Hillfields venue the Kasbah.

The iconic two-piece, behind noughties chart-toppers such as The Great Escape, will strut their electric stage presence on Saturday (September 3) as part of the UK leg on their latest international tour.

Based in New York, We Are Scientists first tasted success with their first studio album – With Love and Squalor – which sold over 100,000 copies in the first six months.

The duo’s second album, Brain Thrust Mastery, reached number 11 in the UK album chart and since then they have gone on to release three more albums.

Influenced by acts including My Bloody Valentine, David Bowie, Hall & Oates and Fleetwood Mac, the band will also visit cities including Sheffield, Oxford and Gloucester during their UK tour.

Amajit Kullar, of the Kasbah, said: “We’re really looking forward to bringing We Are Scientists to the Kasbah for the band’s only Coventry performance.

“The band’s latest output, Helter Seltzer, was released only a few months ago – we’re sure fans will love to see some of their newest music, as well as a mixture of their older classics.

“2016 has been another fantastic year for the club in terms of bringing so many exciting and diverse artists to Coventry – from Wilkinson, to Wendy James and Jeremih, the Kasbah works to cater for all music tastes.

“We are expecting a real buzz at this performance, as students will be arriving in the city in their thousands for the new academic year so encourage partygoers to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment.”

Tickets for the 18+ event are priced at £6 and can be purchased from www.kasbahnightclub.com – doors open at 9pm.
