FIVE PATIENTS have been hurt at the junction of London Road and Daventry Road after two buses collided.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene at 12.01pm this afternoon (October 12) and sent three ambulances plus a paramedic area support officer.

Among those injured was a 91-year-old lady who was, ironically, on her way to the hospital via the bus when the incident happened.

Fortunately, the elderly lady appears to be uninjured and has gone to hospital for her intended appointment.

A 63-year-old female, a 75-year-old female and a 53-year-old man have also been taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire with various injuries.

It is believed the 75-year-old may have fractured her ribs, though an x-ray is currently being carried out on her left side.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The incident does sound like a low speed collision.

“The 53-year-old man is still being treated by crew members as he’s complaining of pain in his neck.

“Another lady, aged 74, was discharged at the scene and the bus company arranged for her transport home.”
