THE NIGHTTIME sky was lit up last week as Coventry’s Christmas lights were turned on.

Hundred flocked to Broadgate to see X Factor star Fleur East take to the stage and wow the crowds before the city’s festive lights were turned on.

The Voice contestants, Letitia George and Tom Barnwell, also entertained spectators alongside HE IS A PEGASUS, G-Casino Talent Winner 2016 Alex Norman, the children’s choir from Ernsford Grange Primary School, UV Beatz and Elite Dance Academy.

Coventry’s Paralympians, Kare Adenegan, Charlotte Moore and Ben Rowlings, also made a special appearance.

The lights switch-on also marked the start of late night shopping within the city centre, which will see stores stay open until 9pm every Wednesday in the run up to Christmas as well as Thursday, December 22 and Friday, December 24 to allow shoppers to get any last minute presents.
