COVENTRY CITY will play at home against Wycombe Wanderers in their Checkatrade Trophy semi-final clash after the draw was made earlier this morning.
The Sky Blues are the only team to have defeated Wycombe in the tournament so far this year, and Russell Slade’s men will hope that theme continues as a win would book his side a place in the final at Wembley.
City earned their place in the semi-final draw after a dramatic penalty shootout win followed Jordan Willis’ late header forced Tuesday night’s quarter final game against Swansea City Under 21s to penalties.
George Thomas, Gael Bigirimana, Kyel Reid and Ruben Lameiras all converted from the spot to confirm a semi-final spot.
Wycombe will travel to the Ricoh Arena in plenty of form having not lost a League Two fixture since October 22.
The other semi-final fixture will be contested between Luton and Yeovil – who play their quarter final fixture on Tuesday (February 7) or Oxford and Bradford – whose semi final clash takes place on Tuesday (January 31).
