City couple turn to solving puzzles at popular Coventry venue for Valentines

THOUGH it sounds very Fifty Shades, Coventry couples are being encouraged by a regional entrepreneur to lock themselves in a room together while solving a puzzle.

Rather than solving the mysteries of live, couples will be desperately trying to crack a code which will see them ‘Escape’ from EscapeLive rooms in under an hour.

Bosses at Escape Live, which now has a venue at FarGo Village, have seen a surge in couple choosing their venues for a date since they first launched in 2015.

The idea of locking people in rooms while they solve a puzzle is the brainchild of breakfast radio presenter John Dalziel, who has seen more than 4,000 couples choose to test their brain power as a romantic date.

John said: “We are becoming increasingly popular with couples and I see so many people out there looking for something a bit different to do on Valentine’s Day.

“Escape Live gives them a chance to spend an hour in a locked room together but any funny business will have to wait until later because they will need every minute of the 60 to solve the clues to escape the room.

“Our Coventry venue has only just launched but it is already proving to be popular.

“When we first launched, we thought it would be more for mates and businesses team-building but the couples market is growing massively.

“We’ve even seen five marriage proposals at the venue – and every time they’ve said yes.”
