A TRIO of biomedical scientists will be wished a happy retirement by University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire following 115 years of combined service.

Staff gathered to wish Annelie Jones, Beverley Robson and Joanna Davis farewell following decades of hard work and dedication to their roles.

Joanna started work at the trust in 1980 as trainee, progressing to become a biomedical scientist.

By the end of her career, she’d achieved the role of senior biomedical scientist.

Annelie started working for the Trust in 1979 while Beverley started in 1977 and worked for 40 years.

Joanna said she really enjoyed her time working at UHCW.

She added: “I feel privileged to work in my chosen profession.

“We have always worked together as a team to put the patient first.

“Many people criticise the NHS, but there have been many times that I have felt very proud to be part of it.”

Annelie said: “I have great memories of the past.

“I have worked with many dedicated and talented professionals and we have achieved great things.

“One of my favourite memories is when we started work in our new hospital.”

Beverly added: “It’s never been dull working in pathology.

“Every day there is something new to learn, even on my last day I was still learning.”
