Labour stalwart Geoffrey Robinson continues his reign as Coventry North West MP with impressive election night victory

LABOUR MP Geoffrey Robinson is celebrating election night success after securing a majority of over 8,000 to retain his Coventry North West seat.

Mr Robinson secured 26,894 votes – his nearest rival Conservative candidate Resham Kotecha receiving 18,314.

UKIP’s Michael Gee finished thrid with 1,525 votes, closely followed by Lib Dem candidate Andrew Hilton with 1,286, Independent Ciarán Norris with 1,164 and Green Party candidate Stephen Gray with 666.

Speaking after his re-election a delighted Mr Robinson thanks he campaign team and the people of Coventry North West for electing him.




He added: “There have been some outstanding results in tonight’s election.”

“If you went back four or five weeks ago we said we never thought we would be here, but here we are – not just in Coventry but other parts of the country”


“It demonstrates that the British people have had enough of austerity . Hopefully tonight will bring an end to austerity.”
