CRICKET: BERKSWELL’S eagerly awaited showdown with local rivals Knowle and Dorridge was abandoned due to rain.

Both teams have been locked in a season long battle at the top of the Birmingham Premier League, but the sides meeting at Berkswell was unfortunately not to be despite the best efforts of ground staff.

Both teams picked up five points as a result of the match being abandoned.

It means Knowle and Dorridge remain at the top of the league table on 252 points while Berkswell keep their second place slot on 240 points.

Shrewsbury are just a point behind while a long gap sees Ombersley lead the mid-table teams on 211 points with Barnt Green and Dorridge giving chase.
