CYCLE SPEEDWAY: FOUR of cycle speedway’s top teams from across the country will do battle in the Cup Playoff Final in Coventry this weekend.
Following a series of qualifying rounds across the country, Wednesfield, Astley & Tyldesley, Ipswich, and Newport all qualified for the season-ending finale.
The free-to-attend event, which starts at 2pm on Sunday, September 17, is set to host some of the season’s most explosive action around the banked Hearsall Common-based Coventry circuit.
A Coventry Cycle Speedway Club spokesperson said: “Sunday promises to be a great day for the club and the biggest event we’ve staged since hosting the Team GB vs Australia test match two years ago.
“Top riders including Paul Heard, Ben Mould, and Ashley Hill will be on display – all aiming to capture the Playoff Cup.
“We hope to draw a large crowd following the success of our own Coventry hero – and new British Champion – Myke Grimes just last month.”
