CYCLING: COVENTRY-based M.I Racing enjoyed another successful weekend with star rider Phil Roach stealing the show in the Over 55s Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire cyclocross series.
Roach was joined by team mates Kirby Bennett in second – making it a remarkable one, two for M.I Racing – while Peter Busby finished sixth.
Elsewhere Wellesbourne’s Tim Stowe travelled to Milton Keynes to compete in the latest round of the Central Cyclo Cross Series.
He stormed to victory in the Over 60s category, overcoming gale force winds.
There was more joy on Sunday when M.I Racing were strongly represented in the Midland Cyclo Cross Series.
Former British Senior and Veteran Champion Steve Knight earned his seventh victory of the season, winning by more than two minutes in the Over 50s category.
Kirby Bennett finished second while Phil Roach had little fortune when being forced to swap bikes after picking up an unwelcome puncture.
In the Over 60s race, Tom Stowe overcame a slow start to finish within seconds of British Champion Pete Harris to secure second place.
Sally Reid also featured, she secured the win in the Over 55s race while Lindsey Newman picked up second in the Over 45s and Clare Waddam came second in the Over 40s.
