Mark Jackson, 54, died after the crash which took place in Hall Green Road at the junction with Almond Tree Avenue, Wood End, on Wednesday (June 13) last week.

He was discovered in cardiac arrest and sustained serious injuries after his bike collided with a silver Ford Mondeo.

His family said: “Mark was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by our entire community.

“He was a wonderful man who always rushed to help anyone who needed him, and we are utterly devastated by our loss.

“We would like to thank all our family and friends who have rallied around at this sad time.”

Police arrested a 28-year-old man from Radford on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving on the night of crash.

On Monday (June 18) police said he has been released on bail pending further investigations, until July 11.

West Midlands Police collision investigation unit is looking into the circumstances of the crash and has urged witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Alan Wood said: “We understand that the collision took place at the junction between the two roads the biker suffered very serious injuries and there was nothing that could be done to save him.

“I would ask anyone who saw the collision or saw the bike or silver Mondeo in the moments leading up to the impact to please get in touch as they could hold vital information.”
