A MAN has been charged with the death of an 83-year-old following a hit-and-run collision days before Christmas.
The pensioner was crossing the Foleshill Road in Coventry at around 10.10pm on Thursday, December 21 last year.
The man, who had just left the Parkstone Working Mens Club, was crossing the road with a friend, when he was hit by a car.
Bagri Parminder was arrested the next morning (December 22) after driving off from the scene.
The 28-year-old, of Exhall Green, Coventry, has today been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, perverting the cause of justice, failing to stop after an accident and possession of a class B drug.
He is set to appear before Birmingham Magistrates on July 18.
