CZECH netminder Miroslav Kopriva has departed Coventry Blaze and returned home to receive treatment for concussion and to be with his family during recuperation.
After Blaze’s No.1 goalie Miika Wiikman was sidelined for a number of weeks, Kopriva was drafted in, going on to play ten games in the Elite League with a 90.5 per cent save ratio.
He also played a single game in the Challenge Cup.
The unfortunate injury where he clashed with a team-mate now sees the 34-year-old fly home to recover, but only after proudly receiving the Blaze Player of the Month award for October.
Head coach Danny Stewart said: “Miro came in and did a great job for us on short notice.
“It was very unfortunate what happened to him in Cardiff and we wish him the very best In his recovery back to full health.”
