A PEDESTRIAN has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Coventry.
The man, aged 58, received advanced medical care at the scene outside a vets on Binley Road at about 7.15pm last night (Sunday, November 18).
Police arrested a man in connection with the incident last night and he was released this morning pending further investigation.
An ambulance arrived four minutes after a 999 call and it was backed by a paramedic officer and The Air Ambulance Service critical care car.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “After treatment at the scene, the man was taken on blue lights to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire; the doctor from the critical care car travelled with the crew.
“There were no other patients.”

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating after a man, believed to be in his 50s or 60s, was struck by a car as he crossed the road.
“Enquiries continue to establish the identity of the pedestrian, who remains in hospital with serious injuries.
“A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs.”
