A COVENTRY cartoonist who has been promoting youth culture in the city for more than five years has released his own Christmas card.
Nick Shingler, creator of ‘The Cov Kids’ cartoons, has launched a Coventry-themed festive card featuring his distinctive illustrations.
He is donating 10 per cent from the sale of every card to Zoe’s Place baby hospice in Easter Way.
Zoe’s Place provides palliative, respite and end-of-life care to babies and infants aged from birth to five years suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
Nick, a senior building consultant and surveyor at Warwick District Council, seeks to present elements of the city’s culture through the eyes of its youth.
Nick’s cartoons have been featured on our letters pages since May and they usually depict children frolicking in a recognisable place in the city.
The cards have been supported by businesses in the area and the Coventry City of Culture 2021 Trust.
Nick says the card was launched on the Earlsdon High Street and are now available at shops including One-Stop, Zafiris, Brian Holt estate agents, A P Harvey wines, Allure Health and Beauty, Ally’s Restaurant, Bombay Palace.
They are also available in Smiths Nurseries and Garden Centre on Stoneleigh Road, Akbars Indian Restaurant on Queen’s Road, The Royal Bengal Indian restaurant on Albany Road and Medivet Regent on Upper York Street, and more.
