TWO MEN have been arrested following a fatal crash in Rugby.
A 54-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs, after the crash on Bilton Road yesterday evening (Sunday). It is believed to have happened between Webb Ellis Road and Buchanan Road.
A pedestrian in her 60s died after she was hit by a blue Nissan car at around 6.40pm.
Police later arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Det Insp Lisa Sears said: “We’re keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the two vehicles in the moments before the incident or has dash cam footage from the area.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the Nissan, or a light-coloured Audi, shortly before the crash should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
