A MAN has been shot in Coventry while two further gunshots echoed through city streets within 24 hours.
The 29-year-old was blasted by a shotgun last night (February 5) in Elkington Street, Wood End.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “A man presented himself to University Hospital Coventry at around 7.30pm last night with a shotgun injury to his upper leg. The 29-year-old’s injury is not life threatening.
“Contrary to social media speculation, there was not a firearms discharge at the hospital.
“Armed officers were deployed to the address in Wood End.
“.. A 21-year-old woman, a 26-year-old man and a 17-year-old male youth – who are all known to the injured man – were arrested at the hospital in connection with the shooting and they remain in police custody.”
On Monday evening, police confirmed another shot was fired through the front door of a house in Bristol Road, Earlsdon.
It was heard in neighbouring streets, prompting many concerned residents to post on Facebook in alarm.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating after a shot was fired through the front door of a house on Bristol Road in the Earlsdon area of Coventry just after 8pm last night (Monday, February 4).
“There were no reported injuries and enquiries continue.”
A further shot was then reported to the police later on Monday evening.
A spokesperson said: “Police are investigating after a shot was fired at a man in Blenheim Avenue in Coventry just before 9.30pm on Monday night (February 4).
“Fortunately he was uninjured and enquiries continue.”
