Five fire engines needed to tackle blaze which engulfed building in Coventry

FIVE fire engines were needed to tackle a blaze which engulfed a building in Coventry.

The incident happened at around 7pm last night (February 12) in Parrotts Grove on the outskirts of the city.

A Warwickshire Fire Service spokesperson said: “At approximately 6.53pm Warwickshire Fire Control received several 999 calls to a building on fire in Parrotts Grove, Coventry.

“Five fire engines were mobilised two from Nuneaton, one from Bedworth, Coventry and Foleshill and the command support vehicle from Alcester Fire Station.




“The whole of this building was involved in the fire measuring three metres x five metres x eight metres.

“It was constructed of wood and corrugated tin.


“A panel van and several other vehicles along with cylinders were also involved.

“Firefighters extinguished the fire using hydrants and two jets.”
