A MAN, 55, has been arrested after an alleged bus stop attack in which he is suspected of knocking out another man with his walking stick – after sexually assaulting his partner.

The astonishing incident took place at a bus stop in Trinity Street in Coventry city centre at 3pm on Monday, March 25.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating after a man touched a woman inappropriately as she was waiting at a bus stop on Trinity Street.

“The victim, a woman in her late 20s and her partner, a man in his late 30s moved away from the man, but he hit the woman’s partner across the head with his walking stick.

“The victim was hit and he temporarily lost consciousness and fell to the floor.

“A woman in her early 30s tried to remove the broken stick from the man’s hand, but he pushed her over, hurting her back.
