POLICE in Coventry discovered a huge snake in a Halfords car park this morning.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said the snake was found today (April 24) on the Foleshill Road.
Foleshill Police Twitter posted: “Never a dull day in Foleshill! This snake was rescued from Halfords car park this morning and taken to a local reptile shop to get it warmed up. Any idea on species, tweeps?”
Two not-so-lucky large boa constrictor snakes were found dead at a field in Potters Green, Coventry, in January.
Inspector Helen Smith said it is not unusual for animal welfare charity RSPCA to be collecting abandoned snakes.
She said: “We believe people are unaware of how much of a commitment these animals are, and once they grow in size they can no longer cope.”
