A MOTORCYCLIST killed in a car crash in Coventry has been named – and a fundraising page has been launched for his family.
The tragic incident happened at the junction of Grayswood Avenue and Dulverton Avenue, Earlsdon, on Saturday, August 24, just after 8.30am.
Police say a 38-year-old man was taken to hospital but sadly died soon after his arrival.
And now the victim, Robert Bills, has been named on a fundraising page aiming to support his family.
The page, set up by Samantha Bills, states: “This page has been set up following requests of people wanting to offer support to the family of Robert Bills who tragically passed away after being involved in a fatal traffic collision.”
It has raised more than £2,500 of the £5,000 target.
The driver of the Audi remained at the scene and is helping officers with their enquiries, police added.
They are still appealing for any witnesses, particularly anyone with dash cam footage which could assist the investigation.
Detective sergeant Paul Hughes, from Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the motorcyclist and we will do all we can to support them at this extremely difficult time.
“We are still in the early stages of this investigation and I would ask that people do not speculate on the circumstances of the collision; but that anyone with information which could help our enquiries contacts us as soon as possible.”
