A BOWLING association for visually impaired players has just been awarded more than £700 by Coventry and District bowls association to help top competitors go to Australia for the 2021 World blind Bowls Championship.

Visually Impaired Bowls England (VIBE) was named Coventry & District bowls association’s charity of the year at their annual awards evening last weekend at The Avenue Bowls Club Coventry.

The money raised will go towards the cost of sending elite players from VIBE to the World Blind Bowls Championships in Australia (Gold Coast) in 2021.

Clive Robinson, President of VIBE, said: “We are very grateful for the support of all clubs who have supported us in-and-around Coventry and Warwick.”

Any visually impaired or blind players who would like to take up the sport or make a donation go to vibowlsengland or tel Clive on: 07891708994.
