A COVENTRY man who used his PayPal account to pay to view live streaming of the sexual exploitation of children in the Philippines has escaped being jailed.

Lawrence Dagley had pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court to three charges of making indecent images of children and also admitted failing to turn up for a previous hearing.

Dagley (32) of Grafton Street, Stoke, Coventry, was given a two-year community order with a rehabilitation activity, and was ordered to register as a sex offender for five years.

Prosecutor Lee Egan said that in September last year the police carried out a search of Dagley’s home because of payments he had made through PayPal to someone involved in live streaming of the sexual exploitation of children in the Philippines.

He was arrested and officers seized his phone, a laptop and two i-pads, but he was not charged until some time later.

On his phone the police found 25 movie clips and still images classed as being in category A, showing children being subjected to penetrative sex acts.

There were also 20 still and moving category B images of children involved in non-penetrative sex acts, and 460 category C images of children in naked or indecent poses.

In addition, the police found ten extreme pornographic images showing acts a bestiality, which Dagley also admitted possessing, said Mr Egan.

He pointed out that Dagley had failed to turn up for a hearing in early December, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

And he had spent 11 days remanded in custody since being arrested and brought before the court three days later, when he entered his guilty pleas.
