THE BISHOPS of Coventry and Warwick have shown their support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
Bishop of Coventry, the Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth, and Bishop of Warwick, the Right Reverend John Stroyan, ‘took the knee’ in front of the Charred Cross in the cathedral ruins in Coventry to mark two weeks since the death of George Floyd in the USA.
Before kneeling for eight minutes and 46 seconds – the length of time a US police officer knelt on George Floyd’s neck – the Bishops recited the Coventry Litany of Reconciliation.
