Coventry cathedral to welcome return of Digbeth Dining Club

Coventry Editorial 27th Jul, 2020   0

A POPULAR food festival is set to return to Coventry cathedral as the city reopens from the pandemic lockdown.

Digbeth Dining Club will set up in the cathedral ruins this weekend (July 31 – August 2).

The festival’s roster of food vendors include local Caribbean kitchen Leave it to Esmie and the bar of Bayley Lane.

Following the cathedral reopening with other places of worship on June 22, the festival will be the first organised event in the ruins.

Admission is by prebooking a table via Digbeth Dining Club online.

Digbeth Dining Club said: “It may have felt like our longest stint away from Cov, but we are finally returning to one of our favourite venues in the Midlands for a brand new, open air event.

“We will be turning the ruins into a safe, family friendly and outdoor beer garden with some all time favourite street food regulars.

“We’ll be splitting the event into sessions to allow for a much safer, staggered arrival time that reduces queues and means everyone gets a seat.

“Bars will be provided by BeauFort Spirit and Bayley Lane, with street food by Dick’s Smokehouse, Leave it to Esmie, Yardbird, Dim Sum Su and Bournville Waffle Co.

“Tables can seat up to 6 people at £10 per session, and beanbags seat two and cost £5 per session.”

The festival runs on July 31 from 3pm to 10pm, August 1 from 11am to 10pm, and August 2 from 11 – 6pm.
