AN Exhall resident has been jailed for 20 years after pleading guilty to 27 child sex offences.
Michael Crews was arrested by Warwickshire Police in May 2018 following a report from two men who were abused by Crews when they were young boys.
The investigation led by the Serious and Complex Crime team uncovered further offences against another six children.
The offences occurred between 1996 and 2016 in Exhall and Bedworth when the victims were aged between six and 11.
Crews pleaded guilty to 12 counts of Indecent assault on boy under the age of 14 years, five counts of Indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 years, five counts of assaulting a boy under 13 by touching and five counts of Assault a girl under 13 by touching.
Appearing at Warwick Crown Court on Friday (24 July), the 71-year-old of The Waterfront, Exhall was sentenced to 20 years in jail. He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register indefinitely.
Detective Constable Karl Roberts from Warwickshire Police said: “Crews has demonstrated he is an extremely dangerous man and the evidence of this case showed the untold damage he has caused to the lives of his victims.
“He is now facing a substantial amount of time in prison, unable to cause further harm to children.
“Crew’s victims have shown immense bravery in coming forward and supporting this investigation after such a long time. I hope they can take some comfort from this sentence and I hope it gives other victims of sexual offences, no matter when they occurred, the confidence to come forward.”
