Coventry restaurant to offer free meals on Christmas Day to the homeless and those who need them

Coventry Editorial 10th Dec, 2020   0

A COVENTRY restaurant is opening up on Christmas Day to offer a free hot meal for the homeless, families who are struggling and those generally in need.

Selmina’s Restaurant and Bar 16 in Spon Street is hoping to offer a table service for the lunch but that will depend on whether the city’s Tier 3 restrictions are lifted on December 16.

If they are it will be a sit-down meal but if not, the hot meals will be offered via a takeaway service – which the restaurant is still permitted to do under Tier 3 regulations.

The eatery is run by sisters Selma and Emina.

Emina said: “It has been a really rough year and there are so many people who are struggling or in difficult situations.

“We just want to put a smile on their faces this Christmas.”

To book a meal at Selmina’s, email [email protected] or call 02477 980627.
