A SUSPECTED drug dealer was caught trying to flush more than 500 wraps of a suspicious powder down the toilet.
West Midlands Police raided a flat in Camden Street, in the Upper Stoke area of Coventry, at 7.30am this morning.
Officers arrested a man and woman before discovering a stash of what’s believed to be crack cocaine and heroin in the toilet bowl.
Police suspect the pair made a dash to the bathroom as officers moved in but failed in their bid to flush away potentially vital evidence.
A man aged 23 and a 19-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and remain in police custody.
Det Sgt Tony Ashton said: “We’ll be sending the powder away for a forensic examination but it’s strongly suspected to be Class A drugs.
“If so, this is a significant quantity we’ve recovered plus we also seized around £2,000 in cash from the address.
“The man has claimed to be a student at a University in Nottingham. I think he’s got some explaining to do.”
