Family-friendly festival of witchcraft coming to Coventry

Coventry Editorial 16th Jul, 2021   0

A BRAND new festival for witches is coming to Coventry later this summer.

The family-friendly weekend event is aimed at educating people on witchcraft, offering everything from witch workshops to meditation, spell work, stalls and more.

Organised by a local group of witches called the Coven of Gaia, the festival is one of only a few events aimed at pagans and witches in the UK and is open to those with experience as well as complete beginners or people who just want to learn more.

Julie Aspinall, from the Coven of Gaia, said: “When you say the words pagan or witchcraft, people still have certain stereotypes in mind, but we’re keen to educate people and show them that it might not be quite what they imagine.

“This weekend is aimed at everyone, from more experienced witches and pagans to those just starting out on a spiritual path or who want to learn a bit more.

“And even if you have no interest at all, but just want a fun family weekend, that’s fine too.

“It’s a place to ask questions, learn a bit more, check out what we do, or just have fun.”

Set at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Fillongley, which boasts acres of woodland, it will take place on the weekend of September 18 and 19, with events running through the night as well as throughout both days.
