THE BANDS in the Park programme returns this summer with many of Coventry’s green areas playing host to live music.
The events are part of the UK City of Culture ‘Summer of Surprises’ programme of events.
The first event is on Sunday, July 25, in Nauls Mill Park with the Phoenix Rock ‘n’ Roll band with the Bandicoots Blues Connection band at Longford Park next Sunday, August 1 – both from 2pm to 3.30pm.
On August 15, Sambassadors of Groove and the Day Spring Steel Band will play Spencer Park from 2pm to 4pm
At Allesley Park on August 22, the Dene River Jazzmen will perform between 1.30pm and 3pm, followed by Non Stop Bop (3.30pm to 5pm) and an outdoor cinema showing from 8.30pm to 11pm.
The programme takes place in the city’s parks on a Sunday afternoon, from the end of July until the end of September.

Sunday, September 26 – Coombe Abbey, 2pm – 3.30pm – BBC Contains Strong Language 2021 – Parks, Poems and Brass Bands with Olga Dermot-Bond and the City of Coventry Brass Band.
