THE ENVIRONMENT Agency has confirmed there is no lasting damage to the land or the watercourses after a severe barn fire in Coventry at 10pm last Wednesday.

Representatives from the Environment Agency, Public Health England and Severn Trent Water attended to assess the damage caused to the local area and see what could be done to minimise it.
The barn – which was well alight when fire crews arrived – contained hay and farm machinery.
Livestock had to be rescued from the area and residents living nearby were advised to close their windows due to the large amount of smoke bellowing from the barn.
At its height there were six engines from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue battling the blaze through the night, using local water supplies to fight the flames.
Two pumps remained on Thursday morning to continue the damping down.
