City Hosts to get discounted bus travel after link up with National Express Coventry

Coventry Editorial 18th Sep, 2021   0

A PARTNERSHIP between the UK City of Culture and National Express Coventry means the City Host volunteers can now get discounted travel.

The bus operator is now making bus travel easier for the 2021 City Hosts while they help thousands of residents and visitors attend the many City of Culture events across the city.

Chris Gibbens, National Express Coventry’s commercial director, said: “City Hosts have a really important role to play, providing local knowledge and support, as well as being a friendly face for anybody attending the exciting events here in Coventry.”

Martin Sutherland, chief executive of the Coventry City of Culture Trust, added: “This new support from National Express Coventry will enable our volunteers to continue to make a positive impact on the city, but in a more sustainable and environmentally conscious way.”

Almost 3,000 people have signed up to be City Hosts and Mr Sutherland hopes this arrangement will be a further incentive for Coventrians to join the team.
