THOUSANDS of people from across the country flocked to Coventry to join in a brand new family-friendly festival at the weekend.
The Festival of Witches and Pagans, held at the Heart of England Conference Centre in Fillongley, attracted nearly 2,000 people across two days in its inaugural year, with organisers already planning the next event for 2022.
The family-friendly weekend event is aimed at educating people on witchcraft, offering everything from witch workshops to meditation, spell work, stalls and more.
Organised by local group the Coven of Gaia, the festival is one of only a few events aimed at pagans and witches in the UK and was open to those with experience as well as complete beginners or people who just wanted to learn more, as well as families looking for a fun day out.
Organiser Julie Aspinall, from the Coven of Gaia, said: “The event was a huge success and we’ve had brilliant feedback by everyone who attended.
“When we first started planning, we knew there was a huge audience for something like this, but we had no idea quite how popular it would be.
“We’re already planning our next event for May 2022 which will be even better.”
