A MAN in his 30s has died after being hit by a car in London Road, Coventry, at 6pm yesterday.

Police are investigating the incident which involved a blue Ford Focus.

The man sustained serious injuries and, despite the best efforts of emergency crews, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family has been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers at this distressing time.

The driver remained at the scene and is helping officers with their enquiries.

Police have spoken to a number of witnesses but would ask anyone who has not yet spoken to them to get in contact.

DC Chris Ridge from the serious collision investigation unit, said officers were examining CCTV footage around the time of the collision in a bid to establish exactly what happened.

“Our thoughts remain with this young man’s family at this difficult time.”

He appealed to anyone with any information or dash cam footage which shows what happened to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
