A TOP Coventry Police officer has said ‘they will wait as long as it takes to bring the incident to a safe conclusion’.

But Supt Ryan Tryer, in the video which was released tonight, added the safety of everyone involved and the local residents was the main priority.

The incident, involving a 41-year-old man who barricaded himself in a flat in Earlsdon Avenue North with his eight-year-old son, began at 12.20am on Sunday morning and is approaching the end of its fourth day.
