COVENTRY BLAZE have announced the signing of 24-year-old Canadian Centre Conner Chaulk until the end of the 2021/22 Elite League season.

Chaulk arrives from the University of Regina Cougars and was signed on deadline day (March 1) having flown into the country last week.

In 17 games for the Cougars this season, Chaulk tallied a team best nine goals and eight assists for 17 points which ranked third.

The 2021/22 season was his fourth and final season of Collegiate hockey with Regina, and he also led the team in points and assists in the 2019/20 season.

Head coach Danny Stewart said: “Conner will be an important piece down the stretch. He is a natural Centre that plays the game both ways. He’s got good size, skill and will help us be stronger up the middle.

“He’s been a captain in his career and comes with great character. Adding another guy was crucial for a gruelling finish over the next six weeks.”

The Regina, Saskatchewan, native was named an Academic All-Canadian in three straight seasons (2018-2021) while studying Business Administration.

In total during his USports career, the 6ft 2in forward played 59 games, scoring 17 goals with 20 assists (37 points).

Prior to playing Canadian college hockey, Chaulk played junior in the WHL, mainly with the Swift Current Broncos, while also icing his final season with the Calgary Hitmen.

During his junior career, Chaulk iced in 176 regular season games scoring 27 goals and adding 31 assists while earning a reputation as a strong face-off taker. In 14 playoff games, he had two assists.

The Blaze would like to thank the Booster Club for their support in helping to make this deal happen.
