Coventry Editorial 26th Mar, 2022   0

THE hugely popular event, Godival Festival will once again bring incredible live music from both top name acts and local artists this September at Coventry’s War Memorial Park.

Organisers are currently hard at work programming artists and attractions for the festival which, in 2021, featured more than 70 artists, including massive names such as Craig David Presents TS5, Supergrass, Sister Sledge, Fun Lovin Criminals and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

In keeping with the tradition of previous years, the 2022 line-up will also provide a platform to celebrate the diverse range of musical talent that exists in Coventry.

Further details about ticket announcements and the 2022 line-up will be announced in the next couple of months.

Councillor Abdul Salam Khan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Events, said: “The success of last year’s festival, despite the challenging circumstances it was delivered in, showed the love and support people have for the event.

“It remains a crucial part of our city’s culture and of course bring lots of economic benefits to Coventry in terms of tourism and thousands of extra visits to the city.

Like last year, the festival will be taking place on the first weekend of September from the 2-4th.

Coun Khan was keen to stress that this doesn’t mean that Godiva has abandoned its traditional July dates, and is a temporary move for 2022 to accommodate the Radio One Big Weekend.
