COVENTRY Cyrenians have been given a £1,000 donation from the city’s Amazon receive centre as part of a programme to support communities across the UK.

The charity has tackled homelessness and helped vulnerably housed people across Coventry and Warwickshire for almost 50 years.

It provides more supported accommodation for single homeless adults than any other single agency in Coventry.

They also offer employment and training with around one in five of its residents getting paid work by the time they move on from Coventry Cyrenians.

General manager of Amazon’s Coventry fulfillment centre, Paul Roberts said: “Coventry Cyrenians does important work providing services and support for vulnerable people in our community and so we’re pleased to bolster the staff and volunteers’ efforts with this donation.”

Coventry Cyrenians fundraising manager Nicky Sargent added that the donation will enable them to continue to reach and help people in need across the community.
