COVENTRY’S popular Rum and Reggae festival will be headlined by legendary British DJ David ‘Ram Jam’ Rodigan.

The festival will be coming to the Rialto Plaza on September 23 from 8pm and will see Rodigan joined by Coventry’s own Mackabee Crew.

Reggae fans will have an ‘incredible’ time as General Levy will also be taking the stage.

The festival will also feature specialty rums, Caribbean food stalls and a rum punch shack.

Rodigan has been thrilling reggae fans for decades becoming the DJ of choice for some of the genre’s top artists.

He has also featured on BBC Radio 2 and Grand Theft Auto and champions all forms of reggae from Ska and Rock Steady to Dub, Roots and Dancehall.

A Rialto Plaza spokesperson said: “ This event takes our popular Rum & Reggae events to the next level. What an honour it is to welcome the soundclash superstar, Mr Reggae himself David Rodigan to the Rialto.

“With Caribbean soul food, island-inspired rum cocktails and a full-on Carnival experience, this will be a night to remember.”

Tickets start from £20.29.
